Social networking has exploded over the past few years and Facebook is far and away the leader in providing a "connection" with others.  Facebook describes itself as "helping you connect and share with people in your life" -and it does... but how well?  With every profile, post and picture... every happy birthday wish, cause support, and comment
"connecting" seems to have become more superficial than ever!  Do you find that this is true of your relationships in general?   Join us for this six week series as we explore our relationships with each other and our relationship with God in our new series.

Everyone has a favorite playlist for that summer road trip or escape to the beach.  You listen to it in the car with all the windows down and the volume turned up.  Sometimes the songs remind us of summer heartbreaks from the past and others remind us of the summer sun and a carefree life!  Over the next 5 weeks we will be sharing with you some of the songs on our summer playlist.  Come discover how God can connect with us through his life-changing truth illustrated through some great music.

Lawn mowers have replaced snow shovels and gardeners and farmers are dusting off their equipment to get ready for the spring planting. In this series, Jesus is going to teach us that what is true for the garden is also true for our lives. It doesn't take a green thumb to make things grow -- it just takes good soil.  Join us for this 4-part series as we cover one of Jesus’ most famous parables.

All you have to do is look through the New Testament of the Bible and you will repeatedly run into the topic of baptism. Jesus began his three-year teaching ministry at the age of 30 by being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River.  On the day known as Pentecost 3,000 people chose to become followers of Jesus and were baptized.  Phillip baptized an Ethiopian official on the side of the road, Peter baptized Cornelius and his family… Over and over again in the Bible we read of people choosing to be baptized right after they chose to believe.  Join us for this special service as we talk about this ancient symbol of faith and celebrate with individuals that will be taking the plunge!

There is no worse feeling than coming to the end of something and discovering that what you were counting on, depending on or looking forward to couldn't… or wouldn't… deliver what you had hoped for. You've spent money, time and energy that you can't get back. Sometimes it's no big deal; a few dollars here, a couple of hours there. But, what do you do when you realize that you're wasting your life?

Roots are vital to the health and sustenance of any living organism.  While a tree may stand tall and be impressive, it is only as strong as the roots established under the surface.  The same can be said for the church.  What are our roots?  The prophet Jeremiah said, "Trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that run deep...will not be hindered by externals.  Their leaves will stay green, and they will never stop producing fruit."  In this series we will explore some of the firmly established, settled, and entrenched values from which everything sprouts at Discovery... the reason we do what we do as a church.

Don’t touch the sides!!! There goes the funny bone!! As we begin the new year many  of us will make resolutions…promises that we will begin something new in 2010. But what about the things we need to eliminate? What if we started 2010 by thinking through some of the things in our life that need to be removed? Join us in January as we look at some of the ‘spiritual surgeries’ we could undergo to make this year better than the last.
