Discovery Christian Church offers 2 weeks of KidQuest!  Kidquest is for Elementary Children, Kindergarten through entering sixth grade.  Lil' KidQuest is for Preschoolers, age 3 years through Pre-K.  It will be just like the big kids week...only scaled down to meet their needs.

These weeks will be the best weeks of your child's entire summer...no matter how old they are!  Like all children's events at Discovery Christian Church, a balance of life application and Bible stories are mixed with a huge dose of FUN! We believe children learn best when engaged in 'hands on' activities! And to ensure that your child is safe, each volunteer has been screened and trained! They have also given permission for all necessary background checks. These Godly men and women will help your child have a blast and learn Godly principles.

 

Zooplosion!!

Our theme this year was ZOOPLOSION!!  In this three day wild animal safari, kids learned about how Daniel was rescued from the lions' den, Elijah was fed by ravens and how Jesus leads us as his sheep.  Kids discovered that what the Bible teaches relates to them no matter how old they are!

Besides the lessons and live music, children participated in wild animal themed crafts, snacks and games - including a different inflatable from ELF Entertainment each day!

In addition, we had special performances by the Wild World of Animals!  WWA is a wildlife company specializing in wild animal performance and entertaining and educational wildlife shows across the country.  They have appeared on the David Letterman Show, the Today Show and Rachel Ray among others.  Children saw over a dozen different animals that include reptiles, birds, primates, mammals and a large cat (lion, tiger or leopard)!  Not to worry... these wild animals were caged.  These professionals show their wild animals to schools all year round... so it was safe!

For Lil' KidQuest in June, we had a special performance featuring these animals on Friday afternoon!  Lil' KidQuest families and friends were invited to bring their own picnic lunch on Friday, June 3 from noon-1pm and watch the show following regular activities.  This additional event was FREE for everyone!

KidQuest will continue to run each day even if it is raining.  We have enough tents/shelters to continue with our activities.  However, if there is lightning or thunder in the area, we will need to close.  If camp is already in session when lightning or thunder occurs, we will gather all the children under the shelter.  The shelter is a secure, safe place to gather the children.  We would encourage you to come pick up your child with your check-out card at that point if you see lightning or hear thunder in the area.
